I
am told that this is the original Parlor in James Goodall Guitars
ads. It is everything the pictures suggest. It is beautiful to view,
a pleasure to play and inspiring to hear. Its voice is one of those
rare balanced musical tones that combine great sustain and overtones
in both its trebles and bass notes. This is one of the top 10 guitars
I have played. A
new model, presented in 1999, this is the smallest of Goodalls;
however, in volume and projection is greater than most guitars larger
in size. |

The
back, sides and front headstock veneer are made from Maccassar Ebony
with large striping, including book matched sap lines on the back;
it is bound in ebony with thin black and spruce colored purfling. |

The
top has the most silking (almost quilted) I have ever seen, made
from Master Grade Engelmann Spruce, with a clear pickguard.
The
rosette is made from abalone with silver, blush and green tones,
the abalone back strip and endpin seam with predominantly green
and blush colors. |

The solid Mahogany neck has an Ebony heelcap; the head has gold
Schallers with Ebony buttons. The headstock is also bound with thin
Ebony along with the same purfling. There is a bright green abalone
and white pearl Goodall logo. The Ebony bridge pins and endpin are
dressed with MOP dots. The saddle is fully compensated, and both
the saddle and top nut are bone. Includes
the OHSC. |
