"Jim
Olson's one of the finest builders today. I know him well. Next year,
he'll build about 60 guitars. If you're considering ordering one, I
would suggest that you do it now. He has quite a waiting list. The people
who own his guitars seem to be quite happy." Bob Taylor, Taylor Guitars
(Kamikaze,Vol. 5, issue 36, pp. 12-13)
James
Olson is truly one of the top master luthiers in this golden age of
custom guitar making (one of the nicest guys around too!). Having the
nickname "Jig Man" (or "Jigmeister"), his many custom jigs enable him
to set and repeat his exacting standards. The consistency of quality
on all his creations is amazing! Jim has one of the most immaculate
and beautiful guitars available. And now that he is not taking ANY orders
until further notice, after he already had a back order of over 2 years,
they are in greater demand.
